Operator’s Licence Compliance Audits

Operator’s Licence Compliance Audits

When an operator’s licence has been granted, the DVSA have the power to enter any premises named on an operator’s licence and inspect all specified vehicles and all the management systems that the operator has in place.

It is thus important that any transport operation meets the DVSA’s and the Traffic Commissioner’s standards at all times.

During an inspection, the DVSA expect to see established management systems, including but not limited to:

  • Driver training.
  • Tachograph analysis.
  • Driver management.
  • Vehicle maintenance.
  • Policy and procedures.

We offer an operator’s licence compliance audit based on the same criteria that the DVSA use to evaluate an operator. We scrutinise every aspect of the transport operation to determine whether the operator complies with all regulatory requirements. We also provide advice regarding industry best practice, to further increase the level of compliance across the transport operation.

After our visit, we prepare a report detailing all the management systems the operator has in place and highlight any improvement points.  We are then able to assist operators by creating a bespoke implementation plan, to ensure the required corrective action is carried out effectively

Regular audits are an effective compliance monitoring exercise, to ensure you are meeting and exceeding your operator licence undertakings.
