NRI Instructor Training
Dave Robbins Transport Consultants are a registered exam centre for the National Register of Instructors (NRI).
Both Lois and Dave are qualified NRI instructors. This enables us to conduct training and testing, using our clients’ vehicles for individuals to gain the DVSA recognised instructor and assessor qualification.
This course also provides candidates with the skills to prepare drivers for the DVSA driving test and conduct post assessment/ incident remedial training.
The LGV Instructor course covers the below topics:
- The role of the instructor
- Preparation of a training course
- Preparing lesson plans
- In-cab instruction
- Classroom lesson delivery
- Vocabulary and phraseology
- The object and scope of the DVSA driving test
- Teaching manoeuvring exercises
- Report writing
- Training route selection
- Road transport regulations
- The theory of driving, including road observation and planning (from the instructor’s viewpoint).
The LGV Instructor course is suitable for candidates who:
Our Service
- Have held valid category C or C+E entitlement for 3 years or more and hold a valid UK driving licence
- Experience as a professional LGV drivers
- Have knowledge of the Highway Code
- Have good communication skills
