Behind the scenes at Glendinning: Quarry expansion and driver safety

EJW Glendinning visit

It is always rewarding to get out on-site and see our clients' operations in full swing.

We recently visited E&JW Glendinning, the largest independent supplier of quarry and concrete products in Devon and Cornwall. A big thank you to Barry Glendinning and Assistant Quarry Manager Justin Wickens for the fantastic guided tour around their impressive new quarry extension—and for capping off the visit with a brilliant breakfast.

Getting an up-close look at an active quarry really highlights the sheer scale and precision involved in bulk haulage and heavy plant operations.

Keeping heavy fleets compliant and safe

Operating heavy commercial vehicles, mixers, and aggregate tippers in demanding environments requires unmatched precision, strict site safety, and continuous professional training.

Dave Robbins Transport Consultants is proud to deliver Driver CPC (DCPC) training for the Glendinning team, ensuring their drivers stay:

  • Fully compliant with current road transport and quarry safety regulations.
  • Sharp on core driving standards, fuel efficiency, and dynamic risk awareness.
  • Up-to-date with their mandatory 35 hours of periodic training without disrupting busy operational schedules.

Seeing the continuous investment Glendinning puts into both their infrastructure and their workforce is a testament to why they remain leaders in the South West's construction materials sector.

Need to get your drivers' periodic Driver CPC hours completed with courses that deliver practical value for your fleet? Get in touch with our team today to discuss tailored training options.
