Today, we are delighted to offer a huge congratulations to Steve Thompson and his instructor Scott Bates of Müller Milk & Ingredients, who recently attended our registered exam centre to sit his NRI Instructor examinations — and passed with flying colours!

A Fantastic Achievement

Becoming a qualified NRI (National Register of Instructors) Instructor is a significant accomplishment. The qualification is recognised by the DVSA and equips professionals with the skills to prepare drivers for the DVSA driving test, as well as conduct post-assessment and incident remedial training. It is no small undertaking, and Steve's success is a real credit to his dedication and to the excellent support of his instructor, Scott.

We were proud to host Steve's examinations here at our centre in Exeter, and we wish him every success as he puts his new qualification to work within the Müller operation.

Our NRI Instructor Training Course

As a registered exam centre for the National Register of Instructors, Dave Robbins Transport Consultants don't just host examinations — we also deliver our own NRI LGV Instructor Training course right here in the South West.

Both Lois and Dave are qualified NRI Instructors, which means we can conduct the full training and testing process using our clients' own vehicles. Our comprehensive course covers everything from in-cab instruction and classroom lesson delivery to preparing lesson plans, training route selection, and the object and scope of the DVSA driving test.

The course is ideal for experienced LGV drivers who have held valid category C or C+E entitlement for three years or more and are looking to take the next step in their career by becoming a qualified instructor.
